On Getting in the Frame
It's been a minute.
If you live in the Midwest, it probably comes as no surprise that winter is a pretty slow season for photographers. It's dark and cold outside, pretty light is hard to catch, and it's not prime wedding or senior season.
So, this year I decided to use that time to focus on a subject that I usually ignore completely; myself.
I joined a self portrait group and have been semi-following their themes as I go, trying to push myself to get in the frame, pushing through the awkwardness of being on the other side of the lens. It's been a really rewarding experience, and I'm really glad that Riker will have these photos as memories *with* me, since I think that moms especially are guilty of always being the picture taker.
I'm looking forward to playing with light and getting outside of my house as spring (hopefully) approaches, but here are some of my winter faves so far!
